If I were to go ahead and comment on some of the logic others seemed to have used, I do not think most people who complain about minimalist armor being protective have actually worn and used real armor! I have done medieval reenactment for 10 years now.. I have fought in full plate armor, leather armor, and a more gladiator style of just helm, Greek style greaves, and a belt. The more armor you have, the slower you move. Someone in a mountainous terrain, would not wear very much armor, due to needing the dexterity for quickly climbing loose hillsides and terrain of that nature.
Sorry for the rant, but again, Awesome job!
You are totally right about the armor thing though. I always scratch my head when I see huge bulky armor on knights standing there up in the mountains. I always wonder "This looks really cool but how the heck did he get up there wearing all that heavy stuff?!" Because some of the designs really look like they weigh a ton!
